About the Exam:

All FDNY Fireguard exams are computer-based, multiple-choice tests given at FDNY Headquarters in Brooklyn, NY. You’ll have 30 minutes to complete 20 questions, and a score of at least 70% is required to pass. Certificates of Fitness are issued to individuals and can be used anywhere in New York City. Fees are $25 for a new application and $15 for renewals, with processing typically completed within 1–2 days.
